Collector name Ministry of Waters, Forests, Hunting and Fishing (MEFCP), SODECA (Tap water quality), Possible: le Fonds National de l’Environnement (FNE), l’Agence Centrafricaine de l’Environnement et du Développement Durable (ACEDD), la Commission Nationale de l’Environnement et du Développement Durable (CNEDD), Ministry of Mining, Energy and Hydraulics
According to a World Bank study from 2010, environmental protection is the mandate of three agencies, which haven’t been operational in 2012 yet. https://www.cf.undp.org/content/dam/car/docs/environnement/rcafb_2emeRapportNationalDevdurable_RIO+20_Juin2012.pdf; namely le Fonds National de l’Environnement (FNE), l’Agence Centrafricaine de l’Environnement et du Développement Durable (ACEDD) and la Commission Nationale de l’Environnement et du Développement Durable (CNEDD). Their missions include to set environmental standards and to follow these. Mining: Ministry of Mining, Energy and Hydraulics does not seem to have a website. But also the security status of minerals is a blockage to publish data openly. There are ongoing projects to ensure the peaceful extraction of minerals from mining activities. Governance of the mining sector seems to be unstable. https://land-links.org/project/property-rights-artisanal-diamond-development-ii-central-african-republic/. WRI partners with the Ministry of Waters, Forests, Hunting and Fishing (MEFCP) to develop the Interactive Forest Atlas of Central African Republic and to build the capacity of forest stakeholders in remote sensing, GIS, and forest information management. This partnership aims to strengthen forest management and land use planning by bringing all major land use categories onto the same platform. https://www.wri.org/our-work/project/congo-basin-forests/central-african-republic#project-tabs The most recent statistical yearbook does not provide environmental data. Focus is on educational data: https://reliefweb.int/sites/reliefweb.int/files/resources/annuaire_statistique_2017-2018-vf.pdf
