Several agencies in Ghana are committed to environmental monitoring, but hardly any evidence was found that relevant data is currently collected. In the extractives sector, it was found that mineral rights are managed by the Minerals Commission (MC), under the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources. The Minerals Commission publishes data directly from the so-called "MCAS" system, onto a platform of Revenue Development Foundation: https://ghana.revenuedev.org/dashboard. The data includes licence start date, unique licence code, licence owner (company) licence type, status, mineral. For forestry, it was found that deforestation indicators are developed, but it was not possible to verify that different deforestation data is collected. According to REDD desk, “the Forestry Commission of Ghana is responsible for regulating the utilisation of forest and wildlife resources, the conservation and management of those resources and the coordination of policies related to them. [...] The Forestry Commission sits within the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.” Source: https://theredddesk.org/countries/actors/forestry-commission-ghana The Forestry Commission of Ghana published a Forestry Development Masterplan, also including indicators like increase of forest areas in relation to current forest areas.: https://www.fcghana.org/userfiles/files/MLNR/FDMP%20Final%20(2).pdf There is also a REDD strategy developed by Ghana: https://www.fcghana.org/userfiles/files/REDD+/Ghana's_National_REDD_Strategy_final_draft_210616.pdf The Ghana Water Company Limited published a water management framework which outlines procedures to monitor water quality, but it is not possible to verify if data is collected. https://www.gwcl.com.gh/national_drinking_water_quality__management_framework.pdf Environmental Protection Agency Ghana is tasked to develop measures to alleviate pollution but there are no mentions on their website that they capture air pollution data.
