What data is expected?

Data should include maps of lands with parcel layer and display parcel boundaries in addition to a land registry with information on transactions of parcels of land. The assessment criteria were developed in collaboration with Cadasta Foundation. findable_steps I have interviewed citizens just to find out what do they know about land ownership in Namibia. I have also contacted the ministry for data to no avail.

This assessment only refers to mining cadastres. For other cadastres: In order to achieve its mandate, the Ministry of Land Reform embarked on the Land Reform programme which is built on two pillars, namely: the redistributive land reform process that involves the acquisition of agricultural commercial land by the Government according to the willing-buyer-willing-seller and expropriation principles, as well as the resettlement programme aimed at improving access to land by resettling previously disadvantaged Namibians. Tenure reforms through the development of unutilised or underutilised non-freehold land and registration of land rights in communal areas. The government is in the process of registering land rights, communal land rights are mapped to 90%. There is numerical data on tenure types and amount of leaseholds signed, as well as tax revenue generated from land ownership.
